Description
This isn’t your average bone-in pork chop.
It just isn’t.
These heritage breed hogs are great for farms like ours. Yes, Idaho Pasture Pigs are considered a heritage breed, combining three heritage lines: Duroc, Old Berkshire, and Kunekune. They are friendly, have great meat quality, good nature, excellent grazing ability, and are manageable. Ours lived a great life, were well cared for, enjoyed sunshine, lots of sleep, munching on the grasses, more sleep, and supplementally fed Free Wing Farms soy-free swine ration. They enjoy playing and making a little noise from time to time.
Our regenerative practices ensure that like our chickens and turkeys, they were given the fresh air and sunshine they needed. By rotationally grazing them, they are also able to eat fresh forage and help new growth happen. They do so very well and truly enjoy it when it is time to move to the next paddock.
We will not have an unlimited amount available, because while we have practiced raising them for almost four years, this is the first time we are making cuts available for purchase. We plan to raise and offer more, but that will take time because of our farm practices. We are so excited about getting good, nutritious, and healthy meat into the hands of local people who want the best for their families. Every item represents hours of care, prayer, and stewardship from pasture to plate. Thank you for supporting our family farm and helping us keep this good work growing.
